Chayanne put aside family tragedy to turn in a starring performance Thursday night at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
The veteran Puerto Rican artist recently lost his mother, but went
ahead with his scheduled performance at Bank United Center, where he
sang the new single “Humanos a Marte.” The response was a stunning,
thankful ovation from the audience.
Across his career, Chayanne has filmed more than 50 music videos,
recorded 23 albums and sold more than 40 million units worldwide.
The singer, composer and actor has 28 Top 10s on Hot Latin Songs, the
fourth-most chart toppers on the list and four No. 1s on the Top Albums
chart. The entertainer has also appeared on the big and small screens
on projects such as the film "Dance with Me" and the iconic TV show
"Ally McBeal". In 2010 he was the lead voice to the character Flynn
Ryder in the movie "Enredados" (Tangled).
